Developer Contributions Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)

Public Consultation Notice

Notice is hereby given that Fenland District Council has published a draft Developer 1Contributions SPD for public consultation under the provision of Regulations 12 and 13 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) Regulations 2012.

The Developer Contributions SPD has been prepared to support Policy LP13 Part (b) of the Fenland Local Plan 2014. This notice sets out how the public and stakeholders will be consulted on the draft SPD.

Purpose of this SPD

The purpose of this SPD is to provide details on the Council's approach to securing developer contributions. The SPD will provide clarity to developers, planning officers, stakeholders and local residents regarding the basis on which developer contributions will be sought. The SPD details the type of developer contributions that may be required.

Public Consultation: Opportunity to Comment

In accordance with the Fenland Statement of Community Involvement (June 2013), for the purposes of this consultation, this SPD has been circulated and made available as follows:

· A press release containing details of the SPD consultation has been issued to the local media.

· Organisations/bodies and individuals that we consider will be affected or interested in the SPD, or may be involved in the delivery of the SPD, have been notified of the consultation via post or email.

The consultation period on this draft Developer Contributions SPD will run from Friday 5 December 2014 until 5pm on Thursday 15 January 2015.

Please note: comments received after this deadline will not be taken into consideration.

The Town and County Planning (Local Planning) Regulation 2012 requires us to consult not less than 4 weeks on the SPD. Our consultation period is 6 weeks to allow for Christmas and New Year holidays which occur during this time.

After the consultation closes, Fenland District Council will consider all representations received during the consultation period. We will publish a statement which summarises the main issues raised during the consultation period and, if necessary, the Council’s response to these issues, and will provide details of the changes to the SPD as a result of comments made. We will then present the final SPD to a meeting of the Full Council with the recommendation that it is adopted to support Policy LP13 Part (b) of the Fenland Local Plan 2014.

Wisbech Town Council is the Parish Council for Wisbech. It has four members of staff: Town Clerk, Mr Terry Jordan; Deputy Town Clerk, Mrs Susanah Farmer; Asset Supervisor, Mr Michael South and Administrative Assistant Mrs Tracy Bidwell-Hazell. There is also a Mace Bearer for use at civic occasions. For any enquiries, please use the Contact Us link on the left-hand menu.


Wisbech Town Council manages allotments, Wisbech Market, and the public toilets in Wisbech Park and Exchange Square.
