Wisbech Town Council

Wisbech Town Council is the Parish Council for Wisbech. It has four members of staff: Town Clerk, Mr Terry Jordan; Deputy Town Clerk, Mrs Susanah Farmer; Asset Supervisor, Mr Michael South and Administrative Assistant Mrs Tracy Bidwell-Hazell. There is also a Mace Bearer for use at civic occasions. For any enquiries, please use the Contact Us link on the left-hand menu.

 

Wisbech Town Council manages allotments, Wisbech Market, and the public toilets in Wisbech Park and Exchange Square.

Wisbech Town Council organise Festivals in the town each year - watch the website and local press for details.

Fenland District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council are the two local authorities covering Wisbech with responsibility for services.

Some areas of Walsoken within Wisbech are in the Borough of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk.

Based in March but with an office next to the main Post Office in Wisbech

FDC is responsible for:

·        Refuse and re-cycling; street cleansing; public toilets; environmental health; and the dog warden;

·        Housing advice; housing and council tax benefits; council tax collections;

·        Tourist information;

·        Elections;

·        Sports, park, open spaces and play areas, The Hudson Sports and Leisure Centre;

·        Refuse and re-cycling; street cleansing; public toilets; environmental health; and the dog warden;

·        Fenland @ Your Service (One Stop Shop), Exchange Tower, and the Boathouse Business and Conference Centre;

·        Energy efficiency & grants; economic development; and community development;

·        Licensing; planning & building control and CCTV management.

Cambridgeshire County Council

CCC is responsible for:

·        Archaeology, arts, libraries & archives;

·        Schools & colleges, the Queen Mary Centre & community development;

·        Social Services for children, young people & families, adults, older people, and carers;

·        Highways, street lighting, roads and paths maintenance, and traffic management.
